Welcome! I am so happy to be with you here in The Forest as we enter into a space of Connection: with Self, with Nature, and with Self as Nature.
The reality is, you are an ecosystem. Your body, breath, and whole being exist as a complex web, interwoven as layered parts of self which, let's be honest, are largely unknown to most of us modern humans who have been taught over-simplified ways of knowing self.
We live in a world that praises mind over matter, and it teaches us separation: from self, and from nature.
But You Are Nature!
This means you exist in the full spectrum of complexity that expands so far beyond the conscious awareness that houses your thought patterns and belief systems.
This is a path of healing, yes! More than this, it is a path of connecting into all that is alive in this world - as you and around you. Here, I invite you to find the healing that you are seeking as the sovereign human being that you are. And, here, may we find the connection that begins the healing for the collective that is all of life here on Planet Earth.
How it works
The following includes 4 ~15 minute guided embodiment meditations. These meditations are designed to get you out of your head and in felt connection.
For each practice, I invite you to find a comfortable, seated position where you will not be disturbed. Feel free to close down your eyes if comfortable. If not, then a soft gaze is perfect.
A note on discernment
Let's be real. This work is deep work, and, for many of you, it may be brand new and can be challenging to open your awareness to this territory.
The following meditations are created with great care as I hold trauma-informed awareness.
That being said, this is not a 1:1 program, which means that you must take full charge of your journey as you travel with care into your own inner territory. For some (not all, but some), it can be a challenging space to enter into. And, it can also be joyful and supportive and deeply nourishing!
If you have any questions or are seeking guidance, send me an email directly at katie@upwardslopes.com.
Regardless, know that this journey is about YOU. Take charge as you hold awareness for what feels good and safe for YOU. If you need to press pause or step away from a meditation, or if you need to seek an alternate route inward, know that this is in perfect alignment with your journey and, do yourself and this Earth a favor, and listen to the truth of your path that arises.
As you're ready, begin with the first journey below.
1: Your Breath As Your Guide: Guided Meditation for Connecting with Self through Your Breath
I invite you to find a comfortable, seated position where you will not be disturbed for the next 15 minutes. Feel free to close down your eyes if comfortable. If not, then a soft gaze is perfect.
This meditation is designed to connect you with your breath as your guide into self. By learning to connect with your breath Know that this is a process; or, in other words, a skill to develop. Do not expect it to necessarily be able to connect deeply, especially if you are new to meditation or new to embodied forms of meditation.
2: You Are An Ecosystem: Guided Embodiment Meditation for Exploring Within
I invite you to find a comfortable, seated position where you will not be disturbed for the next 15 minutes. Feel free to close down your eyes if comfortable. If not, then a soft gaze is perfect.
This meditation is here as an exploration of your inner landscapes. How we come to know oneself is a journey that is going to look different for everyone. Here, we learn how to tune in, listen, and become acquainted with an ability to respond to the signals from within for guidance as to where our attention is best served.
3: Deep Roots: Guided Embodiment Meditation for Grounding & Connection
You, as your own sovereign human self, exist ever-connected to the great web of life that is Planet Earth. In this meditation, we connect once more into self as we begin to connect with Earth.
I invite you to find a comfortable seated position in a space where you will not be disrupted for the next 15 minutes.
Take a seat, invite yourself to slow down, perhaps even begin to fill your heart with gratitude as you enter into a space of connection with Earth, herself.
4: A Walk Through The Forest: Guided Embodiment Meditation for Connecting Through Movement
This is a guided embodiment meditation that is designed to help simulate a walk through the forest. I invite you to settle into your seat for this deeply inward journey.
Then, I invite you to take this with you as you venture into the outdoors with an ability to connect even deeper with self, and with Earth, herself.
